Major Tim Tessin, Commander, Raleigh-Wake Composite Squadron

Major Tessin has been in Civil Air Patrol since December of 2002 when he joined with his son. He quickly became involved in Communications, serving as the squadron Communications Officer. After earning his Mission Scanner and Mission Observer ratings, he went on to finish off his Pilot training. He quickly advanced to obtain his Instrument rating and is currently working on his Commercial ticket with the goal of becoming an instructor. He is a qualified Mission Pilot and Cadet Orientation Pilot.

Major Tessin assumed command of Raleigh-Wake Composite squadron in Dec 2008, after serving as Squadron Testing Officer. Appointed in 2007 as NC Wing Cadet Orientation Flight (O-Flight) Coordinator, he received a Commander's Commendation for a record setting O-Flight program.

Major Tessin has been working in the computer field for 30 years and holds a BA in Physics/Electrical Engineering. Born and raised in Michigan, he moved to North Carolina after 15 years in California. He enjoys photography, aviation, ham radio (K6IU), is a nationally rated bridge player and plays drums in a rock band.
